CHINESE AND SPANISH

For Chinese:

The Chinese program at GTIIT-Affiliated International School aims to provide a comprehensive and effective learning experience for students at every level from Early Years to Middle School.

The Chinese program follows a curriculum based on "Easy steps to Chinese" textbooks , Levellearning program and ACTFL standards. We use the Levellearning platform to assess and improve students' levels, ensuring that they are always challenged and making progress. In this way, students will develop a strong foundation in Chinese language and culture. They will learn essential skills such as speaking, listening, reading, and writing in Chinese. Students will also become familiar with Chinese customs, traditions, and values. In addition, they will learn how to communicate in various real-life situations, such as greeting, ordering food, and asking for directions. In topic-based learning, we follow the topics from the school's social studies curriculum, so students can make connections between their Chinese language studies and other subjects.

For Spanish:

The Spanish as Additional Language program at GTAIS is designed to immerse students in a vibrant linguistic and cultural experience. With over 580 million speakers globally, Spanish is not only a key means of communication but also a gateway to understanding diverse cultures and perspectives. Mastering Spanish enhances cognitive abilities, enriches academic performance, and boosts future career opportunities in an increasingly interconnected world.

Our program implements a communicative approach, focusing on practical use and real-life contexts, enabling students to engage in conversations from the outset. We delve into the cultural nuances of various Spanish-speaking countries, with a special emphasis on Colombia, providing students with insights into traditions, customs, and daily life.

To support diverse learning styles, we integrate a variety of materials and cutting-edge technology, ensuring that every student—regardless of their native language—can actively participate and succeed in their language acquisition journey. Through this comprehensive approach, we aim to equip students with the skills and confidence they need to communicate effectively in Spanish and appreciate the richness of its cultures.
